The bar across the top
Activity, Responses, Edit chatbot, Dashboard — and who gets which
Teachers use this bar to move between the activity and its conversations. The items shown depend on their role and the LMS integration settings.
The current item is underlined and identified as the current page to screen readers.
Who sees what

The bar only shows items available to the signed-in user.
Why a standard teacher sees only two
Responses is available to the chatbot owner and to a teacher who has launched the activity as an instructor for that course. This lets a course teacher review their students’ work without owning the chatbot.
Edit chatbot and Dashboard require authoring access. Lead teachers and administrators have this access. A standard teacher has it only when the LMS integration has authoring enabled, and then for their own chatbots only.
Without LMS authoring, a standard teacher sees Activity and Responses. They can still change the LMS activity name. See Renaming an activity.
You will only see this if you are a teacher on a platform set up for authoring
When LMS authoring is enabled, a standard teacher gets all four items. They can create and edit their own chatbots inside the LMS. This setting applies to the LMS integration, not to an individual teacher.
Students never see it
The bar only renders when it has at least two items to offer. Students only have access to the activity, so the bar is not shown.
Reaching the dashboard when you cannot author
If you land on the dashboard, the create wizard or an edit form inside an LMS frame without the permission for it, you get a card rather than a blank page.
The card directs you to RolePlay LMS in a new tab. Conversations and results remain available from the activity.
Note
Opening RolePlay LMS in a new tab does not change your permissions.
